I'm pretty busy lately myself, moved into a new apartment last month, quite a lot to do at work aswell and there's some other projects at home I'm working on lately.

My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic, after 9 seasons, 9 years, it's finally over. I did not expect ever watching a show like this nor expecting to get so much joy out of a "girly" kids show like this. The fandom itself has been an incredible, humongous fountain of inspiration and creativity with stories, art, music, animations, sculptures, video games, robots, pretty much any kind of crafts, growing and bringing forth artists and tinkerers among all those sectors. Lots of them have moved on to different fanbases/topics, becoming voice actors, animators, concept artists, writers, comic authors even. You can say a lot about this show, but boy, did it inspire people and boy did it motivate them to push their talents. Even though there's plenty of artists who abandoned (or even deleted) their old work, it's thrilling to see how many talented people started out creating just because of a couple of silly, technicolor horses.

Me? I'm not going anywhere anytime soon As some of you may know, I'm both known under the names "Ikarooz" and "Ikederp", the reason for that is that I originally wanted to make "Ikederp" for pony-related art only and this account here for my general art. It's just that I early on enjoyed drawing those horses so much that I barely did anything else, both "Ikarooz" and "Ikederp" becoming pony-related art aliases. If I ever move on to different stuff in the future, "Ikarooz" will be the center of that art, while you'll still always find pony related stuff under "Ikederp" (actually, I post ALL my pony-stuff on twitter, while I only put the "good" images on deviantart aswell, so if you've only known my DA account, you might miss out on some stuff ). So no matter what, I'm here to stay.

Tumblr is pretty much dead by now and it still keeps flagging a lot of my normal work as nsfw, that's why I'm finally switching aswell.

Nobody on the web exactly knows how this was produced, but I think this is rotoscoping with some heavy duty by-hand-refining of the rotoscoped data, making it a crazy good mixture of rotoscoping and traditional frame-to-frame animation. Why is Japan always taking it to the next level, get ready for some crazy smooth animation



and no, there's nothing 3D in here, it's really just rotoscoping and heavily, HEAVILY refined frame-to-frame animation. I don't even want to think about how much work this was to produce.

ALSO: I should really try again pixel art someday. Why? Two things:

- After all those years (he started the project in 2014!), Michael Azzi's "Pixel-Logic" is finally done! This juggernaut is one of the absolute best tutorial bibles for aspiring pixel artists I've ever seen and if you're just remotely interested in that topic I can heavily recommend to have a look at this one gumroad.com/l/pixel-logic
- This page here contains superb color palettes for pixel art which is super duper helpful to get some nicely colored stuff done
hint hint: those palettes can also be used for regular artwork to get some stable coloring done!

oh and by the way: Inkpotts aka finally finished their 6 video animatic series they started 4 years ago, really makes one start reading "The Count of Monte Cristo". Its always inspiring to see people finish projects which take so much time and work to accomplish.


I'm fine personally, just job hunting atm and generally not having a lot of time for any art sadly
